    Belated update from Tuesday night.
We had a great turn out in the exhausting heat and so I'd like to thank those who made the effort.

The senior players went over transitioning from Tachi Waza(standing) into Ne waza(ground work) an important skill for competitive players and something sometimes neglected.

O Uchi Gari(major inner reap) emphasis being placed on leg placement in the transition so as to not have your leg entangled and then securing the Osaekomi(hold down). Variations being ending in Mune Gatame(side control/chest hold) or Tate Shihi Gatame(four quarters hold)

We finished off our transitions with Tai-O-Toshi(Loin drop) following up with Ude Hisigi JUJI GATAME(Cross armlock)

And we followed this with a JUJI Gatame(cross armlock) escape.

I believe we will be working on some more of these transitions when we have regular classes in the new year. Until then after this week we are asking if anybody is looking to burn off the extra food we all enjoy over Christmas hit up your coaches or message here on the page and we will see if we can organise a social time for everyone to learn and roll.

Please if anyone has feedback positive or constructive about Tuesday night, what you liked, what you wanted to learn more, what you had trouble with etcetera, please feel free to drop us a message the page, coaches or a reply to the post.

That was long winded with a lot of information but I hope it was helpful.

Judo still on this Friday as per usual looking forward to seeing you all there 😀

Tuesday night's training session had a small kids class working on their nage komi and getting to practice their ni waza against Sensei's Craig, Drew and Sean.

The senior's work on transition from tachi waza to ni waza focusing on ouchi gari to various hold downs and tai otoshi to juji gatame. They finished off the session putting these skills into practice during a randori session.

Finally a reminder to all members to let the club know if they want to train over the holidays.
