Freeze tag
Coach Name: Tom Godkin
Club: Penrith PCYC Judo Club

Description

This is a game where one person is selected to chase and tag the others. Once a person is tagged they must freeze and can't move until someone else comes to unfreeze them by throwing them. The game continues until everyone is frozen.
(Variation 1: start with more than one student in the middle – particularly with small kids)
(Variation 2: Students can unfreeze the frozen students with a throw you want to work on – for example o- goshi. The student grabbing a frozen person is safe from being tagged (or frozen). Further – the person tagging can’t wait near for either the player throwing or being thrown.)
(Variation 3: When students are frozen they must drop down on all fours. To unfreeze a person, a student grabs them and turns them over.
They are both then free to stand, as they are unfrozen. Further – the person tagging can’t wait near for either the player being unfrozen of the person who is doing the turnover.)
