The BBR Academy is now calling for nominations for this years 'Development Program'. The BBR Academy as you are aware is run by Volunteer Instructors and the funds derived from the instruction at the academy are used to fund different levels of Judo development. This year we have already provided two airfares to Japan for instructors to participate in the Kodokan Kate course.

The BBR Academy would now like to concentrate on developing athletes.

We will be funding 3-4 Airfares for a 10-14 day training trip to Japan pencilled in from 1st December 2006. You will be training at some great universities and dojo's in Tokyo including the Kodokan. The Judoka will be selected by the BBR Academy instructors based upon athlete participation in NSW Judo i.e. Competitions, Squad Training, BBR Academy Sessions and Club Training

Airfares will be funded however food and accommodation will need to be funded by the athlete. If we stay at the Kodokan dorms then accommodation will cost around $300 for trip.

Selection will be based on the following:

    • The athlete has a strong potential for development in competitive judo, as identified by the BBR Academy Instructors.
