SUMMARY:2025 End Year DAN Grading Preparation Sessions
DESCRIPTION:The purpose of the Black Belt Dan Grading Preparation Workshop is to review the Kata and technical knowledge and skills Dan candidates are expected to know and present at the Black Belt Dan Grading on 30 Nov.  The Kata review will help candidates sharpen up their Kata presentation.  If candidates require more assistance with their Kata presentation\, they are urged to begin attending the Judo NSW BBR Kata sessions on Saturday mornings.  Please contact Ernie Wakamatsu at kata@judonsw.com.au for further information.\n\nTechnical knowledge review is based on the JA Grading Policy.  All candidates are expected to have reviewed the policy and worked with their club instructor to cover any unfamiliar terminology or techniques.\n\nBy the end of the workshop\, candidates should feel comfortable and look forward to their Dan promotion candidates.\n  \nRefereeing skill and knowledge are outside the scope of the study group. DESCRIPTION:  \nNational High Performance & Pathways Camp\nJanuary 12-17\, 2026: National Performance Centre\, Melbourne\nThe National High Performance and Pathways Camp will take place from 12 – 17 January 2026 at the NPC in Albert Park\, Melbourne. This will allow parents to coordinate flight bookings\, bus tickets\, or car-pooling to allow athletes to travel together. \nIf one of the coaches for the camp is from your state\, they will also help with this coordination process. JA will arrange for athletes to be picked up from Canberra airport or coach station by an adult staff member or coach. \nWHO WILL BE COACHING?\nThe camp will be run by four coaches selected from around Australia who are experienced in coaching State level athletes. All coaches have Working with Children checks and are certified to safely look after children. \nDoes attending the camp mean I will be more likely to be selected to represent Australia in the future?\nNo\, it will be educational and fun. NSW 2026 STATE TEAM NOMINATIONS \nNominations are now sought from interested athletes to compete at the 2026 National Championships and need to be completed online by no later than MIDNIGHT ON FRIDAY 27th MARCH 2026 to attend the STATE CAMPS. \nShiai Camp – Saturday 28th & Sunday 29th March\nKata Camp – Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th April \nAnyone who registers after Friday 27th March will not receive a customised shirt and individuals will need to order and pay for their own T-Shirt. \n\nJunior Competitors must have achieved a minimum of Junior Orange Belt.\nSenior Competitors (including Cadets and older) must have achieved a minimum of Senior Green belt. DESCRIPTION:Dear Judo Family\,\nThank you very much for your support and for joining us at the Dream Judo Open. \nWe have received a large number of entries for the U9 division\, and at this stage\, we are planning to have three tatami areas for U9: \n\nTwo tatami areas will be located in one hall.\nOne tatami area will be located in the adjacent hall.\n\nAs there is a partition wall between the two halls\, larger clubs may wish to consider having more than one coach or senior member available to assist and supervise their players. \nFor the U11 and U13 divisions\, we will have two tatami areas operating in the same hall. \nJudo NSW Membership\nPlease note that all competitors must be current members of Judo NSW. \nIf you have not provided your Judo NSW membership number on the entry form\, please do not submit the entry form again. To avoid duplicate entries and confusion\, please simply email the player’s Judo NSW membership number to me at chak.cmla@gmail.com. \nJudogi\nA white judogi is compulsory. All competitors must wear a white judogi during the competition. \nIf there are any issues regarding the judogi requirement\, please contact your club coach or me before the competition. \nFood and Drinks\nHot dogs and drinks will be available for purchase at the venue on a first-come\, first-served basis. \nThank you again for your support. DESCRIPTION:As a beginner\, it’s easy to lose a match quickly — Competition can be unforgiving 😅 \nThese experiences don’t provide the technical development necessary for everyone involved. \nMore often than not\, those you’re competing against in a regular competition are more experienced\, competition focused\, and want to win at all costs. \nUTS Judo and Judo Matsu have established the Interclub Competition Series to provide competitive experiences that would shape the skill development of yellow\, orange\, and green belts. \nThe competition philosophy is built upon delivering equivalent challenges. We believe that your learning is enhanced by experiences that afford the opportunity to test your skills under fair conditions\, even if you’re new to the sport. It’s a fair test when you’re matched with opponents of similar experience in grade\, relative weight\, and even your aptitude for competition\, with judoka from other clubs across Sydney. Conditions where you can apply your skills\, take risks\, and learn from your mistakes. \nHere is what it is: \n🥋Yellow\, orange\, and green.\n⚖️ Equivalent match-ups\n🥊 Minimum of two fights\n🤝 Exposure to a variety of judoka\n🎓 Competition education \nRegister early – Every entry helps to build the experience for people\, providing more matchups and more fights. \nThe competition and event is open judoka from all clubs in NSW. DESCRIPTION:2026 Judo Coach Accreditation Course\nSaturday 26th September – 1pm to 5pm\nAssistant\, Judo Coach & Senior Coach Levels\nNSW State Judo  Training Centre – Newington Armoury \n  \nThis course is designed for new and existing Coaches (including NCAS Coaches) to gain or update their accreditation.
