2025 Judo Coach Accreditation Course

Assistant, Judo Coach & Senior Coach Levels

This course is designed for new and existing Coaches (including NCAS Coaches) to gain or update their accreditation. Please note that Judo Australia has recently updated the Coaching Accreditation Framework – more information can be found by CLICKING HERE

Following are course details.
Venue: Illawarra International Judo Club
Address: Wyllie Rd, Kembla Grange NSW 2526
Time: Sunday 14th September 2025 – 9.00am – 1.00am
Bring: White Judogi, pen, paper, own refreshments/snacks.
All coaches must attend the full 4hrs.
This course will include the following three (3) levels:

- Assistant Coach Coaches children and beginners under the guidance of a Club Coach (Min Age 15 yrs & Min Grade – Senior Green Belt) Assistant Coaches are welcome but do not need to attend the 4hr practical – Practical can be completed back at their own Club with their own (accredited) Head Coach.
- Sensei Coach Coaches and conducts Judo sessions at club level across a range of athlete abilities (Min Age 18 yrs & Min Grade – Senior Blue Belt)
- Senior Coach– Coaches with experience coaching club and state level Judoka across a range of age groups and abilities (Min Age 18 yrs & Min Grade – Shodan)
Applicants need to complete the following theory components prior to attending the practical course:
Assistant Coach
- Community Coaching- Essential Skills – First 3 Modules
- ASC Play by the Rules – Introduction to Integrity of Sport
Sensei Coach
- Community Coaching- Essential Skills – Modules 1 to 7
- Heads Up Online Course – CDC Heads Up to Youth Sports for Coaches
- ASC Play by the Rules – Let Kids be Kids
- ASC Play by the Rules – Inclusive Coaching Course
Senior Coach
- ASC Masterclass – Stage 1
- Heads Up Online Course – Concussion
- Play by the Rules – Introduction to Sport Integrity
- Play by the Rules – Inclusive Coaching Course
- Play by the Rules – Walking the talk
- Play by the Rules – Anti Doping Fundamentals
- Play by the Rules – Let kids be kids

- SIA – Tackling poor behavior in Sport
- SIA – Coaching Course
- SIA – Classification Fundamentals
& refresher level requirements.
All coaches also need to lodge with the Judo NSW Office the following evidence prior to being accredited;
- Copy of current Working With Children Check (WWCC).
- Copy of current First Aid Certificate
- Complete the Coaches Code of Conduct – CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD
Senior Coach applicants will also need to bring (or provide prior) the following to the practical course;
- Lesson plan for a 10 minute warm-up and cool-down (to be handed in)
- Lesson plan to teach a tachiwaza and newaza skill (to be handed in)
All coaches will need to fully participate in the practical session. This will include demonstration in the technical component.
