2025 Judo NSW Annual General Meeting

The 2025 Annual General Meeting was held on 12th October 2025 with Clubs in attendance representing 37% of the Judo NSW Membership.

Two Special Resolutions were moved and considered at the meeting.

Life Membership Nomination for Mr Denis Boyd

On behalf of the Judo NSW Community, we extend our congratulations to Denis Boyd who becomes the 27th person to be bestowed with Life Membership of Judo NSW. Denis achieves this honour having given a lifetime of services to the Judo Community as a volunteer and coach from grassroots level to State and National level.

Denis has coached and volunteered within the Judo continuously for an astonishing fifty-nine (59) years.

This has included coaching at various Clubs listed below

  • 10 years at Mayfield YMCA
  • 10 years at Newcastle YMCA
  • 31 years at Newcastle PCYC
  • 12 months at Adamstown RSL Youth Club,
  • 12 months at Speers Point RSL Youth Club
  • 6 months at Toronto YMCA
  • 27 years at Lake Macquarie PCYC
  • 9 years at Samurai Judo Academy

Denis held various positions with the Hunter Valley Judo Association from 1966 to 2004, performing voluntary roles that included 5 Years as committee member, 8 years as Secretary, 6 years as Vice President, 9 years as President and 10 years as Treasurer.

He volunteered his time tournament official at JFA NSW / Judo NSW tournaments for approximately 42 years. This has included:

  • NSW International Opens
  • National Titles
  • Oceania Titles
  • NSW State Titles
  • NSW Country Championships
  • Hunter Judo Tournaments

Amendment to the Judo NSW Constitution

A Special Resolution to amend the Judo NSW Constitution was passed unanimously at the AGM.
