Following the announcement by the Premier yesterday, the Public Health (COVID-19 Greater Sydney) Order (No 2) 2021 was published overnight and includes revised rules and restrictions for the sport and active recreation sector.

The following Judo training related takeouts for clubs operating in the Greater Sydney region:

  • Maximum of 20 participants in a Judo class. No distinction identified between instructor/coach and participants so assume 20 includes instructor/coach. (Refer Part 3, Page 7).
  • Facemasks need to be worn indoors including when training (Refer Part 3, Page 7)
  • Facemask exemptions apply to persons aged 12 years or under and persons with a physical or mental health illness or condition, or disability, that makes wearing a fitted face covering unsuitable (Refer Part 4, Page 9)

The NSW Government COVID-19 website provides a comprehensive summary of the new rules and restrictions relating to Greater Sydney, including maps and definitions for Greater Sydney and Metropolitan Sydney and other areas where restrictions apply including Central Coast, Wollongong, Blue Mountains and Shellharbour.

Also included are rules and restrictions that relate to travel, capacity ratios and mask-wearing which will impact sport and recreation activities across Greater Sydney, Central Coast, Wollongong, Blue Mountains and Shellharbour.
