Judo Coach Accreditation Course

Assistant, Judo Coach & Senior Coach Levels

This course is designed for new and existing Coaches (including NCAS Coaches) to gain or update their accreditation.
This course will include the following three (3) levels:
- Assistant Coach (1 Day) – Coaches children and beginners under the guidance of a Club Coach (Min Age 16 yrs & Min Grade – Senior Blue Belt)
- Coach Judo (1 Day) – Coaches and conducts Judo sessions at club level across a range of athlete abilities (Min Age 18 yrs & Min Grade – Senior Brown Belt)
- Senior Judo Coach– Coaches with experience coaching club and state level Judoka across a range of age groups and abilities (Min Age 18 yrs & Min Grade – Shodan)
Applicants need to complete the following theory components prior to attending the practical course:
Assistant Coach
Coach Judo
- Community Coaching- Essential Skills
- Heads Up Online Course
- ASADA Level 1 Anti-Doping Online Education
Senior Coach
- Heads Up Online Course
- ASADA Level 1 Anti-Doping Online Education
- Play by the Rules Online Courses (Child Protection and Harassment and Discrimination)
- ASC Intermediate Coaching General Principles – This is delivered through the State or Territory Departments of Sport and Recreation and Judo Australia. It is delivered either online or face to face (varied prices depending on delivery method). NSW Office of Sport (Face to Face and Online). Note – additional course fees apply for this Intermediate Coaching General Principles course.
All coaches also need to bring (or provide prior) the following to the course:
- Copy of current WWCC clearance letter and/or details.
- Copy of current First Aid Certificate
- Completed coaches log book and/or details of current actual coaching hours.
- Lesson plan for a 10 minute warm-up and cool-down (to be handed in)
- Lesson plan to teach a tachiwaza and newaza skill (to be handed in)
All coaches will need to fully participate on the day. This will include demonstration in the technical component.
Course Fees – $100
